Ole Dave Rosenbaum: Col. Pole's most profound philosophy

Dave Rosenbaum writes:
The Beanpole piece caused me to pull out my copy of The Best and Worst of Beanpole, given to me by my mother in 1971. On page 57, I found the following paragraph describing your good wife's early newspaper work.

"Speaking of Linda, she is the wife of Ed Waggener and a good newspaper woman from the word go, Also, a fan from the days of Beanpole on the radio. If there was ever such a thing as the better half of a man, Linda was to Ed; he depended on her for everything."

Also, at the end of the book you find a Sketch of the Author which gives perhaps the most profound philosophical (bordering on theological) statement ever to fall from a pen. Col. Pole, in recounting his life's strivings states "From job to job I searched for an easy way which was not". - Dave Rosenbaum
