She was of the Baptist faith. She was the matriarch of a very large, respected Casey County, KY, family, the daughter of the late Dillard Clay & Sadie Rayburn Elliot. She was a native of Casey County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of her death. She leaves 82 direct living descendants.
