Waiting again. Will I see the world differently after tomorrow?

Author Cass Irvin writes of waiting, again.

It's Sunday night (June 17, 2018) and I'm sitting here in my dining room as I often do watching the sunset change the colors of my neighborhood. Now that I'm retired I often hang out here in front of my window to the world. In 2008 Hurricane Ike took out our holly tree and opened up my vista so I can see more.

I'm also waiting for tomorrow when I get my eyes done (i.e., a cataract removed). I love saying it that way, as though I'm getting plastic surgery.

I'm a little apprehensive and I think that's healthy. I know this outpatient procedure is 'age related' and everyone's doing it. So after Monday my view will be clearer. I wonder if I'll see the world differently.

BTW, I read an article on eye surgery recently suggesting that if "the patient" is a resident of a nursing home the operation may not really be necessary. Are they saying the residents don't need to see? I think I'm offended by that statement.
