LW Archery adds nine student-athletes to roster for 2018-19 Arin Edwards, Alexandria Weaver, Courtney Blevens, Ashlyn Scriven, and Dylan Hamilton, Evan Mahanna, Brennen Majors, Gabe Crenshaw, and Devin Timson latest to sign with Coach Mike Willis' inaugural archery team Click on headline for complete story, photo(s), link By Charles Balcolm, LW Assistant Director of Athletics COLUMBIA, KY - (Thu 21 Jun 2018) - Nine more student-athletes have joined the Lindsey Wilson archery team for the program's inaugural season in 2018-19, head coach Mike Willis announced on Friday. The group is comprised five male and four female student-athletes, which hail from Kentucky, Mississippi, Arizona and Canada, the program's first international signee. Dylan Hamilton joins the Blue Raiders from Daviess Country High School in Owensboro, Kentucky. Hamilton, a multi-year member of the Daviess County National Championship program under Mike and Kristi Wilson, comes to LWC as a compound archer with Indoor and Outdoor 3D experience. His favorite archery moment was when his first-year high school program won the team national title. Evan Mahanna hails from North Hardin High School in Radcliff, Kentucky where he placed on the podium at the 2018 Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) State Championship with his National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) under Ryan Ritter. He is also a member of the Bluegrass Archery Academy S3DA program under Tim Williams. Mahanna is a bowhunter archer and his most memorable moment is winning a NASP tournament in a shoot-off. Arin Edwards comes from Wayne County High School in Monticello, Kentucky where she has been a member of her NASP program under coach Forrest Shelton for eight years. She is a basic bow archer and her most memorable moment was her final national's competition as a high school archer. Brennen Majors joins the Blue Raiders from Henderson County High School in Henderson, Kentucky where he has been a long-standing member of the Colonels NASP program under Dan Melton. Majors makes the transition to bowhunter archer for LWC and his most memorable moments have been competing at both national and world tournaments. Alexandria Weaver is from Webster County High School in Providence, Kentucky where she competed with her NASP program under Morris and Lisa Denton. She is a basic bow archer and looks forward to being a member of the Blue Raider program. Courtney Blevens comes from Bullitt Central High School in Shepherdsville, Kentucky. She is a three-year member of the successful Cougar NASP program under Dusty and Gera Metcalf and Calvin Barnes. Blevens recently helped her team capture the 2018 NASP World 3D Championship and finish runner-up in the Team Bullseye competition. Gabe Crenshaw hails from Hattiesburg, Mississippi and brings an abundance of experience in 3D archery in the Archers Shooters Association. He was a member of the 2017 United States Junior National Team in Outdoor 3D. He is a compound archer and his most memorable moment was competing in France while representing him home country. Devin Timson comes from Phoenix, Arizona where he has been a member of the Desert Sky Archers JOAD Team and joins LWC as a recurve archer and will be a vital part to the development of the program. Ashlyn Scriven is the program's first international signee as she comes from Meath Park High School in Saskatchewan, Canada. She brings valuable experience to the program as a member of the Canadian Junior National Team. Her most memorable moment was her junior national team taking the silver medal at the 2018 World Indoor Championships in South Dakota last season.
