Adair Fiscal Court 12 Jun 2018 gets good news from GRAS

Court approves miniscule rescue fee increase, from $7.50 to $10 per animal

By Ed Waggener

The Adair County Fiscal Court heard an outstanding May 2018 report delivered by Tammy Campbell, the shelter's director.

Total collections for the shelter were $3,339.50 for the month.

In the month of May, the printed report listed collections of $2,478.50 for adoptions. Surrenders, $335.00. Donations, $5.00. Sponsorships of $130. Green County, $396. and Rescue, $15 for a total of $3,359.

Adoptions for the month were 67. Rescued animals, $9.

The report lists 44 dogs and 11 cats from Adair County Dog Warden Jimmy Harmon, and 19 dogs from Green County, KY.

The court approved a recommendation from the director to raise the fee for animals adopted by rescues from $7.50 to $10.

The director noted that many of the animals going to rescue are later sold for $200 to much more, and that she believed the rescues would not notice the difference. The court agreed in approving the increased fee.
