Driver taken to TJ/C, airlifted to UL, following KY 80 accident

Law enforcement reports 2003 Ford pickup, operated by 36-year-old Nicholas crossed the center line of Russell Springs Highway traveled through the West bound lane crossed a residential yard, went airborne, and the vehicle then came to rest in the front yard of a second residence.

The Adair County Sheriffs Office responded to a single vehicle accident, Saturday, May 19, 2018, approximately 10 miles east of Adair County on Russell Springs Highway/KY 80.



The accident occurred when 36 year old Nicholas Kerns was traveling East in his 2003 Ford pickup.

The Kerns vehicle crossed the center line traveled through the West bound lane crossed a residential yard, went airborne, and the vehicle then came to rest in the front yard of a second residence.

Kerns was treated on the scene by Adair County EMS and transported to T.J. Health/Columbia for injuries sustained, and later flown to University of Louisville hospital for treatment.

Deputy Brandon Hitch from the Adair County Sheriffs Office is the investigating officer.
