Sarantos "Sam" Genakos, Sr., 67, of Columbia, KY, died Sunday, April 22, 2018 at 11:52pmCT, at TJ Health/Columbia Emergency Room.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 from 5pm-8pmCT at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY.

He was born February 16, 1951, in Lowell, Middlesex County, MA. He was the son of the late Theodore Sarantos and Lucille Falardeau Genokas. He died Sunday, April 22, 2018, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 67 years, two months, and six days. He was a retired machinist.

Survivors include:
  • Two sons: Nicolas Genokas (Whitney) of Sellersburg, IN; and Sammy Genakos (Amanda Elser) of Columbia, KY

  • One daughter: Kelly Hayes (Kenton) of Milltown, KY

  • Three brothers: Jack Genakos of New Hampshire; and Ted Genakos and George Garabedian both of Massachusetts

  • Six grandchildren: Blake and Elliott Biggs, Trent Hayes, Kynslee Hayes; Kaylee Genakos, and Ethan Genakos
