HGR awaiting final tab - but Plowday was likely recordbreaker Preliminary figures are that there were approximately 2,500, a 25% increase in the previous record attendance of 2,000 at the Fall Festival in September 2017! More details will be coming later By Ed Waggener Homeplace on Green River's Plow Day/Spring Festival, is believed to have set a new all time attendance record, according to George Kolbenschlag, publicist, who has promised a detailed wrap-up for the area media as soon as a more official summary can be presented. The crowd which came today so so big it, they lost count and were processing all the visitors they could handle during the day. However, Mr. Kolbenschlag said, "Bill Coleman, who was the chief in charge of parking, counted more than 750 cars, and that did not include the 100 or so belonging to vendors, exhibitors, volunteers, and some who snuck in the back door." He continued, "We think there were at least 800 cars and, figuring 3 per car, that is close to 2,500, which is another record breaker. Our previous record event was 2,000 at the Fall Festival in 2017." This story was posted on 2018-04-21 20:10:53
