Ledie Royce Babbitt, 71, Green County, KY (1946-2018)

He was a United States Navy Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War and will be accorded full military honors at committal rites in Bethlehem Cemetery, on Temperance Road, Green County, KY. He was a Harley Davidson Motorcycle enthusiast and an artist. He leaves a large family to carry on his legacy, including eight children who reside in Columbia, KY; Green County, KY; Indiana, Michigan and many other descendants and relatives.

Ledie Royce Babbitt, 71, departed this life Monday, April 9, 2018 at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville, KY.

The funeral service will be at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home, 209 W Court Street, Greensburg, KY, at 2pmCT, Friday, April 13, 2018. Visitation will be after 10amCT, Friday until the funeral hour at 2pmCT. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery, 525 Temperance Road, Greensburg, KY, with Full Military Honors provided by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard and the Patriot Guard Riders of Kentucky.

Pallbearers: George Anderson, Jr., George Anderson III, David Anderson, Alan Babbitt, Lee Babbitt and Cjay Hewitt.

Ledie Royce Babbitt, Green County, KY (1946-2018)

Ledie Royce Babbitt was born August 9, 1946 in Floyd County, IN. He was the son of the late Alonzo H. Babbitt and Ossie Belle Steen Babbitt. He departed this life Monday, April 9, 2018 at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, having attained the age of seventy-one years and eight months.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his former wife, Shirley Babbitt, five brothers and two sisters: Raymond Overstreet, Nina Croninger, Robert, Clifford, J.D., Darrell and Bonnie Mae Babbitt.

He is survived by:
  • Four daughters and four sons: Candace and Trevor Calhoun of Magnolia, KY; Angela and Leo Jackson of Mt. Sherman, KY; George "Buddy" and Lacy Anderson of Summersville, KY; David and Anissa Anderson of Greensburg, KY; Alan and Karen Babbitt of Salem, IN; Lee and Monica Babbitt of Michigan; Sheryl Babbitt-Behr of Madison, IN; and Melissa Babbitt of Tennessee and his sweetheart, Nancy Crawhorn of Columbia, KY

  • Four sisters and three brothers: Emogene Zimmerman, Tom Babbitt, Earl Babbitt, Elima Nichols, Herb Babbitt, Sue Hardesty and Willa Faye Brown, twenty grandchildren: Anna, Lola and Rain Calhoun, Isaiah, Isaac and Dalton Jackson, Jessica Anderson and George Anderson III, Emily and Abigail Wright, Adrianna, Anastasia and Aurora Anderson, Alicia Baisch, Leanna Babbitt, Amanda York, Keith Babbitt, Brittany Babbitt, Justin and Zach Behr

  • Several great grandchildren

  • Plus a host of other relatives and friends.
