Hazel (Joan) Richards Roberts, Casey County, KY (1941-2018)

She was the matriarch of a large respected Casey County, KY, family with strong ties in Adair, Pulaski, and Lincoln Counties, KY and beyond. She leaves 12 direct living descendants. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Myrtle Snow Richards, and the widow of the late William (Bill) Roberts, . She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Hazel "Joan" Richards Roberts, 76, of Liberty, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018, at Liberty Care Center, Liberty, KY.

The funeral service will be held at 12pmNoonCT/1pmET on Thursday, April 12, 2018, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. James Lynn and Bro. Jimmy Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.

Born on November 27, 1941, in Casey County, KY. She was a daughter of the late Ernest and Myrtle Snow Richards. She died Monday, April 9, 2018, in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at the age of 76 years, four months, and 13 days.

She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by:
  • A daughter: Donna (Moses) Lee of Knifley, KY

  • Two sons: Mitch (Misty) Roberts of Hustonville, KY; and Chris Roberts of Liberty, KY

  • Four grandchildren

  • Five great-grandchildren

  • A sister: Maryetta (Ancil) Hale of Liberty , KY

  • A brother: JD Richards of Indiana.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Roberts, who passed away on March 24, 2013; and a brother, Ernest Richards.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY.
