Betty D. Adams, Taylor Co., KY/Adair native (1939-2018)

She was a native of Knifley, Adair County, KY. She a member of a high respected family. She was the daughter of the late John R. Jones & Sarah Frances Stapleton Jones. Her final resting place will be in Knifley. She professed faith in Christ and was a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church. Over the years, Betty worked at McMahan's Shoe Store, Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville, and Collins Drug Store in Columbia, KY. "Betty was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family effortlessly and unconditionally. Her generosity and love for them knew no bounds. She was a woman of faith and cherished all the simple things life offered. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, shell hunting at the beach, and spending time with loved ones. Family gatherings were always full of stories and plenty of laughter and love. She touched the lives of many with her generous spirit, compassion, and selflessness. Anyone who met her, loved her. She always had a way of making you feel loved and worthwhile. Betty D. Adams, 79, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late John R. Jones and Sarah Frances Stapleton Jones, was born February 7, 1939, in Knifley, KY. She was called home to our Lord at 10:45amET, Friday, March 9, 2018 at Campbellsville Nursing & Rehab Center, at the age of 79.

Funeral Service will be at 12pmNoonCT/1pmET, Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, by Bro. Rob Hughes. Visitation will begin at 4pmCT/5pmET, Monday, March 12, 2018 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. Interment will be in Robinson Chapel Cemetery at Knifley, KY.



Pallbearers: Joey Curry, Mark Jones, Jack Beard, David Armer, Jason Grant, Eric Jones and Kevin Foster

Honorary Pallbearers: Johnny Beard, Russell Beard, David Beard, Dennis Beard, Robert Beard, Greg Jones and Wally Feese.

Betty D. Adams, 79, of Campbellsville, KY, was the daughter of the late John R. Jones & Sarah Frances Stapleton Jones. She was born February 7, 1939, in Knifley, Adair County, KY. She was called home to our Lord, Friday, March 9, 2018 from Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 79 years, one month, and two days.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church. Over the years, Betty worked at McMahan's Shoe Store, Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville, and Collins Drug Store in Columbia, KY.

Betty united in marriage to David Kenneth Adams on August 6, 1955.

She is survived by;
  • One son: Rodger Adams and wife, Janet, of Campbellsville, KY

  • Two and grandchildren: Dustin Adams and wife, Amanda; Holly Tackett and husband, Brian, all of Campbellsville, KY

  • Five great-grandchildren; Chase Adams, Brylee Adams, Carli Tackett, Eden Adams, and Sadie Adams

  • Two brothers: James Jones and wife, Pat of Campbellsville, KY; and Jerry Jones and wife, Barbara, of Knifley, KY

  • Four sisters; Bernece Beard of Knifley, KY; Carol Greer of Russell Springs, KY; Ellen Foster and husband, Mike of Campbellsville, KY; and Barbara Feese of Columbia, KY

  • Long-time special friend: Clara Durham of Campbellsville, KY

  • Multiple nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends
She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister: Johnny Jones and Paula McKinley.

Betty was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family effortlessly and unconditionally. Her generosity and love for them knew no bounds. She was a woman of faith and cherished all the simple things life offered. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, shell hunting at the beach, and spending time with loved ones.
