Marilyn Lewis Rose, Greensburg, KY (1931-2018)

She had made a profession of faith in Christ as a teenager at the Church of the Nazarene of Shelby, Ohio. She worked at the local Kroger Store in Ohio in her younger years, and then later worked for 15 years as a Beautician at her shop in Summersville, KY. She was the daughter of the late Estes Lewis, Sr. and Silvia Sexton Lewis, and the widow of Oscar Rose, Jr. She leaves one direct living descendant, Constance Marie "Connie" Rose of Greensburg, KY, and many local area family members to cherish her legacy. Her final resting place will be in Fry Cemetery, Fry Ridge, Green County, KY.

Marilyn Lewis Rose, 86 Greensburg, KY, departed this life on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at the T.J. Samson Hospital in Glasgow, KY.

The funeral services for Marilyn Lewis Rose will be conducted at 2pmCT, Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Fry Cemetery, Fry Ridge Road, Greensburg, KY. Bro. Leslie Jewell will officiate. Visitation is requested after 10amCT, Saturday, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers will be Maurice Wright, Earl Lane Judd, Daryl Judd, Mike Bennett, Joe Bennett, Chris Wright, Marcus Wright, Rick Davis, Jared Rose, Chad Wade, and Brandon Judd

Marilyn Lewis Rose of Greensburg, KY, daughter of the late Estes Lewis, Sr. and Silvia Sexton Lewis, was born on Monday, October 26, 1931 in Ford County, Il, and departed this life on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at the T.J. Samson Hospital in Glasgow, Barren Countym KY. She was 86 years, four months, and one day of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ as a teenager at the Church of the Nazarene of Shelby, Ohio. She worked at the local Kroger Store in Ohio in her younger years, and then later worked for 15 years as a Beautician at her shop in Summersville, KY.

She united in marriage to Oscar Rose, Jr. on July 14, 1949. He preceded her in death on April 24, 1998.

Survivors include:
  • Her daughter: Constance Marie "Connie" Rose of Greensburg, KY

  • Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Cymbellene Meadows, Wendlene Davis, Davis and Peggy Rose, Jackie and Carol Rose all of Greensburg, KY; Addlene Judd of Glasgow, KY; and William Beardy Viars of Ohio

  • Special niece and nephew: Jamie "Nubbin" Wade of Mt. Washington, KY; and Jared Rose of Texas

  • and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
Mrs. Rose was also preceded in deathin addition to her parents and husband, by a brother and sister: Estes Lewis, Jr. and Deloris Viars; sisters-in-law: Clemontine "Tina" Thompson, Geraldine Bennett, and Magdelene Curry.
