Jimmy (Boney) Karnes, 73, Taylor Co./Green Co., KY native - (1944-2018) He was a hero. Boney was self-employed as a painter and hung and finished drywall. He was a member of the Elkhorn Masonic Lodge #568 and The American Legion. In his past time, he would listen to country music and was an avid Louisville Cardinal fan. Boney also loved to swim in the Green River Lake and while there, had rescued at least two children. He was born in Green County, KY, and was a resident of Campbellsville, KY, at the time of his death. His wife of over 33 years, Karen Smith Karnes, survives. He leaves 21 direct living descendants. He was born October 25, 1944, in Green County, KY. He died Sunday, February 18, 2018 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 73 years, three months, and 24 days. Boney was self-employed as a painter and hung and finished drywall. He was a member of the Elkhorn Masonic Lodge #568 and The American Legion. In his past time, he would listen to country music and was an avid Louisville Cardinal fan. Boney also loved to swim in the Green River Lake and while there, had rescued at least two children.
