Adair County Fire Department

The Columbia-Adair County Volunteer Fire Department would like to humbly thank everyone that took time out to attend our Chili Supper, Candidate Forum and live Auction.

We would like to thank each of the businesses and candidates that donated an item for the auction. Also thank Dale Hayes and everyone who came out and supported the crusade.

Again Thanks Everyone, there is no way we could do this without you.

By the end of the night we had an attendance of around 300 people and raised around $6,500 to be placed in the 2018 total for the WHAS Crusade for Children.

The most notable sale item that showed the crowds charitable giving was a country ham donated by Terry Hadley, It sold the first time 14 times with each winner selling it again.

It was donated to the fire department and we placed it back on the auction block as the last item of the night.

It sold 3 more times with Bro. Ralph Hadley eventually winning it.

Charles & Helen Sparks attended the Adair County Fire Department candidate forum/chili supper/silent auction community event and fundraiser for the Crusade for Children last night. They were among an estimated 250-300 in attendance. Reassuringly, the favorite coupe was in attendance. There's rarely an important Columbia public event when they are not present.

The Saturday, February 17, 2018, Adair County Fire Department Chili Supper/Candidate Forum and Auction was one of the most successful community events of the year so far. Some three hundred participants were in attendance. We wont try to identify all, but for the very, very few who don't know, the man in the anchor chair is Phillip Greer, corner seat, maroon shirt. Look closely, you may see yourself, someone you know, or you favorite candidate.
