George Gaither Atkinson, Taylor County, KY (1939-2018) Born October 27, 1939 in Taylor County, he was the son of the late James and Roberta Penick Atkinson. Over many years he worked at Fruit of the Loom and enjoyed bowling, playing cards, horseshoes and cornhole. He was a member of Bethel AME church. George Gaither Atkinson, 78, of Campbellsville, KY died Sunday, February 4, 2018 in Elizabethtown, KY, after an extended illness. His funeral service will be Friday, February 9, 2018, at 10amCT/11amET at First Baptist Church with Rev. James T. Washington officiating. Burial will follow in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. The wake will be held from 6pmET to 8pm on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home, 503 E Main Street, Campbellsville, KY. George Gaither Atkinson, Taylor County, KY (1939-2018) George was born on October 27, 1939 in Taylor County, KY. He was the son of the late James and Roberta Penick Atkinson. He died Sunday, February 4, 2018, in Elizabethtown, Hardin County, KY, at the age of 78 years, three months and eight days. Preceding him in death was his wife, Mary Catherine Atkinson as well as a son, James Robert Atkinson, two brothers, James Raymond Atkinson and Charles Lee Atkinson and a sister, Rachel Atkinson Curry. For many years he worked at Fruit of the Loom and enjoyed bowling, playing cards, horseshoes and corn toss. He was a member of Bethel AME church. Surviving
