Mathaleen Thompson Walker, 82 Green County, KY (1935-2018)

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Holly Grove Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and had worked as a machine operator for Fruit of the Loom, Inc. She was the matriarch of a respected Green County, KY family. She was the daughter of the late illiam Franklin Thompson & Aretta Ellen Thompson, and the widow of Lilburn "Lib" Walker, her husband of 51 years. She leaves four direct living descendants.

Mrs. Mathaleen Thompson Walker, 82, of Summersville, KY, departed this life on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at the Wright's Retirement Home in Green County.

The funeral services for Mrs. Mathaleen Thompson Walker will be conducted at 10amCT, Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the Holly Grove Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Whitlow Cemetery. Bro. Leslie Jewell and Bro. Dennis Penick officiating. Visitation is requested 4pm-8pmCT f Wednesday February 7, 2018 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, and after 9amCT, Thursday at the Holly Grove Baptist Church until time of the funeral service. Pallbearers: Adam Whitlock, Ruel Neagle, Dwayne Dobson, Jeff Shelton, Robbie Shelton, and Michael Hunter Shelton. Honorary pallbearers: Holly Grove Baptist Church Members .

Mrs. Mathaleen Thompson Walker of Summersville, Green County, KY, daughter of the late William Franklin Thompson & Aretta Ellen Thompson, was born on Friday, May 17, 1935 in Green County, KY. She died Sunday, February 4, 2018, in Green County, KY, 82 years, eight months, and 18 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Holly Grove Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and had worked as a machine operator for Fruit of the Loom, Inc. She united in marriage to Lilburn "Lib" Walker on October 3, 1953 who preceded her in death on August 27, 2005.

Survivors include:
  • A son and daughter-in-law: Troy and Margie Walker of Greensburg, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Natasha Brynn Walker, Shauna Leann Walker and Evan Christopher Walker all of Greensburg, KY

  • A sister: Goldie Meria Kincaid of Ohio

  • And a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Walker was also preceded in death by two brothers and a sister, Dewie Thompson, Charles Thompson, and Leona Thompson Skaggs.
