Nona Mae Jeffries, 83, Savoyard, KY (1934-2018)

She was a member of a prominent North Metcalfe County, KY, family. She was the daughter of the late Allen & Louella Keen Stephens and the widow of Gearon Jeffries. With her death, two siblings survive, Wanda Ballou of Columbia, KY and Frank Stephens, Louisville, KY. She leaves six direct living descendants. She was a member of Savoyard Baptist Church. Her final resting place will be in the Jeffries Cemetery.>

Nona Mae Jeffries, 83, of Savoyard passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Allen and Louella Keen Stephens and the wife of the late Gearon Jeffries. Mrs. Jeffries was a member of Savoyard Baptist Church.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2018, at 2pmCT at Savoyard Baptist Church with burial in the Jeffries Cemetery. Visitation will be on 2pmCT-8pmET, Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Butler Funeral Home and after 9amCT, Thursday until time of service at the church.

She was born February 19, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Allen & Louella Keen Stephens. She died Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at the age of 83 years, 11 months, and 11 days.

Mrs. Jeffries was a member of Savoyard Baptist Church.

She is survived by:
  • A daughter: Carolyn Page & husband Jesse of Savoyard, KY

  • Two grand-daughters: Christy Haynes of Glasgow, KY, and Autumn Emerson and husband Chris of Savoyard, KY

  • Three great-grandchildren: Gearon Haynes, Deanna and Amelia Emerson

  • One sister: Wanda Ballou of Columbia, KY

  • One brother: Frank Stephens of Louisville, KY

  • and a host of nieces and nephews
In addition to her parents, Allen & Louella Keen Stephens; and husband, Gearon Jeffries, she was preceded in death by a son, Gary Keith Jeffries; son-in-law Charles Henery Crowe, KY; four brothers, Samuel, Walton, David, and Glen Stephens; and five sisters, Virginia, Mildred, Ernestine, Louella, and Diane Stephens.

In lieu of flowers, donations are to be made to the Jeffries Cemetery at Savoyard.
