Rev. Charles E. Harris, Sr., Taylor County, KY (1920-2018) Rev. Harris served his country honorably in the United States Army Air Corps as a mechanic during World War II. He was a Bible scholar and had studied at different schools in Mississippi. After his graduation from Union University in 1955, he taught in Jefferson, Webster and Taylor Counties. Rev. Harris also pastored churches in Mississippi and in several counties in Kentucky including: Union, Webster, Hart and Taylor Counties after attending the Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville. In 2010, he received the honor of Pastor Emeritus for Friendship Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Charles Lee Harris & Mattie Sappington Harris. He was born January 16, 1920 near Saltillo, MS. He died at in Elizabethtown, Hardin County, KY, Saturday, January 29, 2018, at the age of 98 years, 13 days. Rev. Harris served his country honorably in the United States Army Air Corps as a mechanic during World War II. He was a Bible scholar and had studied at different schools in Mississippi. After his graduation from Union University in 1955, he taught in Jefferson, Webster and Taylor Counties. Rev.
