Mel Gilbert, 77, Taylor County, KY (1940-2018) He professed faith in Christ & was a member of Green River Memorial Baptist Church. He was a former employee of Cox Interior & owned & operated a cleaning business for many years. He was very active in the Lions Club where he received several awards for his many years of service. He was a native of Bowling Green, KY, and a resident of Campbellsville, KY, at the time of his death. He was the son of the son of the late Arthur Gilbert & Lottie Howard Gilbert. His wife of 37 years, Marla Whiteley Gilbert, survives. He leaves 26 direct living descendants. He died at Thursday, January 25, 2018 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 77 years, nine months, & 11 days. He professed faith in Christ & was a member of Green River Memorial Baptist Church. Mel was a former employee of Cox Interior & owned & operated a cleaning business for many years.
