Anon Martin, 79, Jamestown, KY/Hindman native (1938-2018)

Anon was a dedicated father, husband and grandpa, andKentucky Colonel. He was gifted as a mechanic, carpenter and electric fence box repairer. He was a Christian and a member of Church of Christ, he loved Bluegrass Music, hunting and fishing. He was a native of Knott County, KY, and a resident of Russell County, KY, at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Ibre & Marie Hall Martin. His wife, Velma Lay Martin, survives. He leaves four direct living descendants. His final resting place will be in Mill Springs National Cemetery, Nancy, KY.

Anon Martin age 79, of Jamestown, KY passed away on Thursday January 18, 2018 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, Somerset, KY.

Funeral Services will be held at 1pmCT/2pmET, Sunday January 21, 2018 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel,142 KY Hwy 49, Liberty, KY, with Elder Charles Ellis and Elder Wayne Thurman officiating. Burial will in the Mill Springs National Cemetery, 9044 KY-80, Nancy, KY, day and time pending.



Anon Martin, 79, Jamestown, KY/Hindman, KY native (1938-2018)

He was born in Hindman, Knott County, KY on September 1, 1938. He was a son of the late Ibre & Marie Hall Martin. He died Thursday, January 18, 2018, in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY, at the age of 79 years, four months, and 17 days.

Anon was a dedicated father, husband and grandpa, andKentucky Colonel. He was gifted as a mechanic, carpenter and electric fence box repairer. He was a Christian and a member of Church of Christ, he loved Bluegrass Music, hunting and fishing.

Survivors include:
  • His spouse: Velma Lay Martin

  • Two sons: Nathan & (Mona) Martin of Somerset, KY; and Jamie & (Christy) Martin of Russell Springs, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Kevin Neal and Colton Martin both of Somerset, KY

  • Two brothers: Namon Martin of Topmost, KY; and Amon Martin of Jacksonville, FL
  • One sister: Rose Wiwi of Ohio

  • And several nieces and cousins.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mayme Martin and Mae Ambergury.
