Orissa Jai Astar Mora-Kent weds Nicholas Anthony Woodward

The New Year of 2018 began on a brilliant day -- a perfect day for a wedding. This story of the couple's beginning is shared in their own words by the bride and groom. "And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. Of their own free will, thankfully, as heirs together in the grace of Jesus Christ, with joy and hope, in fearlessness, surrounded by a tribe that encircles them with love, in faithfulness, ready for adventure, both the valleys and mountains, for better and better, Orissa Jai Astar Mora-Kent married Nicholas Anthony Woodward, for the dancing and the dreaming."

1 Corinthians 13:4-13King James Version (KJV)

4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. Of their own free will, thankfully, as heirs together in the grace of Jesus Christ, with joy and hope, in fearlessness, surrounded by a tribe that encircles them with love, in faithfulness, ready for adventure, both the valleys and mountains, for better and better, Orissa Jai Astar Mora-Kent married Nicholas Anthony Woodward, "for the dancing and the dreaming."

Orissa and Nicholas married in Begley Chapel January 1, 2018

Orissa is 27, the firstborn daughter of two daughters born to John Alexander Kent and Lynelle Dawn Catherine Mora and stepdaughter of Tom Jamison Frazier. Orissa was home birthed in Hana, Maui, Hawaii, raised in Louisiana, then transplanted to Columbia....her heart is deeply rooted in Kentucky, with a wild heart for the whole world.

Nicholas is 25, the thirdborn of fourteen born to Michael Dwayne and Charlisa Eileen Woodward. Nicholas, a kind, steadfast man, was born in Owensboro, Kentucky, a man of the land, deeply rooted in Kentucky, with a wild heart for the whole world.

Side story: Orissa and Joshua Aaron Hingle, son of Ellen and the late Stephen Hingle, were sweethearts and intended to marry before Josh's departure from this earth in 2008 when he drowned in Green River Lake. The bride and groom together desire to honor Josh's memory and honor his mother, Ellen, who raised a beautiful young man, loved by all. We love you. Josh, you are missed by everyone! We are thankful for your part in my history. We are happy and grateful to begin building our future, on a foundation of love. The valley was dark at times, still love saw farther, than I ever could, in those moments God was working all things for our good!

We want to thank everyone for their outpouring of love towards us, for their care for our lives, and especially acknowledge our families for their steadfast love towards us! We love you!

Footnote: The bride is wearing her Australian born grandmother's handmade wedding dress which was carefully restored by the bride and groom with help from the bride's mother and one of the groom's sisters. Rest In Peace, Frances, "Bubbles." ...To life, and more abundantly!

Sincerely, Orissa and Nick Woodward

New Years Day was a perfect day for a wedding -- the marriage of Orissa Jai Astar Mora-Kent and Nicholas Anthony Woodward took place on the campus of Lindsey Wilson College. Orissa wrote, "We got married in the Begley Chapel; my niece calls the chapel, 'The Singing House.' Nick and I had a very small wedding, we all gathered in a circle inside the circular chapel, joined hands and a few of us sang out spontaneously. This building with a rich history, stood, sheltering us during the laying of a foundation of a hope and a future!"
