Travel Advisory - Sunday night winter weather & road conditions Road crews for KYTC, Elizabethtown, KY, will be mobilized at 5pmCT/6pmET Click on headline for complete update By Chris Jessie, Public Information Office KY Transportation Cabinet, District 4, Elizabethtown, KY District 4 serves: Breckinridge, Grayson, Green, Hardin, Hart, LaRue, Marion, Meade, Nelson, Taylor, & Washington Counties Based on current forecasts of a wintry mix of precipitation across the state tonight into Monday morning, roads will likely become very hazardous. While forecasters say temperatures will be close to or right above freezing in some areas, pavement temperature forecasts are lower than air temperature forecasts. Roads can become icy, even though rain does not freeze to trees and other elevated objects. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Road Crews from District 4 will be reporting for duty at 6pm this evening and will be deployed for road treatment as conditions dictate. We strongly suggest motorists monitor weather conditions closely and plan travel accordingly to avoid becoming stranded. Situations like this have the potential to stretch KYTC resources and Emergency Responder resources very thin. Visit the KYTC District 4 Facebook Page for local updates at http://www.facebook.com/kytcd4 and visit http://www.snowky.ky.gov for state-wide information. This story was posted on 2018-01-07 09:43:37
