Nelson Kirby Brown, 87, Yosemite, KY native (1930-2018)

Kirby Brown was a retired truck driver for Kroger. He most recently worked at the Marsh Fishing Lake in Fairfield, Ohio. He was a member of a large, respected Casey County, KY, family. He was the son of the late Estel (and Estelle McGinnis) and Cecilia Hatter Brown. His wife, Deva Vest Brown, survives. He had been the last surving sibling in his family of 10. He leaves 15 direct living descendants. He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church.

Nelson Kirby Brown, of Fairfield, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Fairfield, Ohio. He was 87.

The funeral service will be held at 12pmNoonCT/1pmET, on Sunday, January 7, 2018, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Gary Vest and Bro. Bobby McFarland officiating. The family will receive friends 11amCT-12pmNoonCT/12pmNoon-1pmET, on Sunday, January 7, 2018, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.



Nelson Kirby Brown, 87, Yosemite, KY native (1930-2018)

Born on September 19, 1930, in Yosemite, Casey County, KY, he was a son of the late Estel (and Estelle McGinnis) and Cecilia Hatter Brown. He died Wednesday, January 3, 2018, in Fairfield, Ohio, at the age of 87 years, three months, and 15 days. Kirby was a retired truck driver for Kroger. He most recently worked at the Marsh Fishing Lake in Fairfield. He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church.

Mr. Brown is survived by his loving wife, Deva Vest Brown of Fairfield, Ohio, and the following:
  • Two sons: Hyman (and Cathy) Brown of Fairfield, Ohio; and Nelson Ray (and Patty) Brown of Trenton, Ohio

  • Five grandchildren

  • And eight grandchildren
In addition to his parents, Kirby was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Joshua Brown; one sister, Dorothy Morgan; and eight brothers, William Floyd Brown, Clayton Jean Brown, Delmer Brown, Edward Brown, Williard Brown, Irvine Brown, Kenneth Conley Brown and Cantrell Brown.
