"SR" Carter age 92 of Louisville, KY formerly of Burkesville, KY passed away Tuesday December 26, 2017 at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville, KY. Visitation will be 1pm-7pmET, Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Owen Funeral Home 5317 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY.

Graveside service will be Friday, December 29, 2017 at 10amCT, at Burkesville Cemetery, Burkesville, KY.



Born in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, he was a retired forklift operator for B.F. Goodrich, and Baptist by faith.

Survivors include:
  • His loving wife: Maxine Norris Carter

  • Two daughters: Carolyn Carter Lynch (Robert) and Shelia Carter

  • One brother: Stanley Carter

  • One sister: Grace Percy

  • Seven grandchildren: Dana Taylor Paul, Shannon Lacks, Shay Lacks, Cassidy Chain, Timothy Carter, Tonya Lynch and Tracy Lynch

  • Eleven great-grandchildren
