Annual Christmas Gathering held by Columbia Adair CofC

The Annual Christmas Gathering of the Columbia Adair County Chamber of Commerce held at the Pines Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017 saw changes in leadership, starting with Executive Director Sue Stiver's retirement with Ellen Zornes moving from President into that position.

New officers are: President, Pamela Hoots (replacing Ellen Zornes); Vice President, Kerry Humphress (replacing Sherry Selby); Secretary, Ann Martin (remaining); and Treasurer, Linda Fitzpatrick (remaining).

Chamber Christmas Gathering: Hoots and Humphress inducted

Outgoing Columbia Adair Chamber of Commerce President Ellen Zornes, left, inducted Pamela Hoots and Kerry Humphress as the new President and Vice President, respectively, at Tuesday evening's annual Christmas gathering. The other two officers, Ann Martin, Secretary, and Linda Fitzpatrick, treasurer, are staying on another term. Ellen Zornes will assume the role of Chamber Executive Director, replacing Sue Stivers who retires from that position to go full time in Tourism.

Chamber Christmas Gathering: food and location by LWC

The staff who served and the leadership at Lindsey Wilson College were thanked for providing the food and location for the annual event. Hot wings, little country ham biscuits, veggies, fruit, cookies and an unforgettable strawberry punch were served to members of the Chamber of Commerce in attendance at the annual gathering at the Pines at Lindsey Wilson. -- LW

Vickie and Marguerite graduated from Adair County High School together and worked together to hold their 40th reunion so they have lots to talk about. Chamber Christmas Gathering: special recognition

Two officers of the Columbia Adair County Chamber of Commerce were given special recognition by outgoing President Ellen Zornes at the Christmas event. Linda Fitzpatrick, Treasurer, at left, was given high praise for keeping the financial record straight. Ellen said, "if anybody anywhere needs a treasurer, Linda is the one." She also recognized Chamber Secretary Ann Martin who was unable to be present at the event. Both Linda and Ann have accepted responsibility to continue volunteering for the Chamber in their positions.

Chamber Christmas Gathering: Secretary times three!

Kathy Johnson, Office Manager at 201 Burkesville Street, Columbia, KY wears three hats in her work day. She is Secretary for the Chamber of Commerce, where she was recognized here with praise and a gift from outgoing President Ellen Zornes at last week's Christmas Gathering, and also Secretary for the EDA and Tourism departments housed in that building.
