Billy F. Flatt, Russell County, KY (1936-2017)

Mr. Flatt was a member of the Creelsboro Christian Church. He was retired from the Kentucky State Highway Department in Russell County, KY, and from the Corps of Engineers at Wolf Creek Dam, and was a farmer. His wife, Edith Spoon Flatt, survives. He was a member of a stalwart, respected Cumberland Valley family, the son of the late Earl & Daisy Hughes Flatt. He leaves seven direct living descendants.

Billy Francis Flatt, 81 of the Bryan Community of Russell County, KY passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 2:50pmCT, at the Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs, KY, after several weeks illness.

Funeral service will be Sunday, December 10, 2017 at 1pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY with Bro. Larry Johnson the officiating clergy. Interment will be in the Russell Springs Cemetery, Lakeway Drive, Russell Springs, KY. The family requests visiting after 4pmCT on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

He was born August 3, 1936 in Creelsboro, Russell County, KY. He was the son of the late Earl & Daisy Hughes Flatt of Russell Co. KY. He died Wednesday, December 6, 2017, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 81 years, four months, and three days.

Mr. Flatt is survived by his wife: Edith Spoon Flatt of Jamestown, KY, and the following:
  • Two sons: Douglas Wayne Flatt of Hamilton, Ohio; and Daryl Edward Flatt of Russell Springs, KY

  • One daughter: Donna Carol Bryant of Russell Springs, KY

  • One brother: Rollin Flatt of Creelsboro, KY

  • Five grandchildren
