Marcella Milby Lange, Green County, KY (1930-2017)

Marcella had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Hodges Chapel United Methodist Church in Green County. She was a retired school teacher. She taught in Green and Hardin Counties, KY. She was the matriarch of a large, highly regarded family. She was the daughter of the late William C. Milby & Lily Thompson Milby. She leaves 30 direct living descendants.

Marcella Milby Lange, 86, departed this life Saturday, November 18, 2017 at her home in Decherd, TN.

Graveside service was held at 2pmCT, Wednesday, November 22, 2017 Hall Cemetery, Green County, KY, with Rev. Meryl Young the officiating clergy. Pallbearers: Chad Goodman, Donald Lange III, Edward Lange, Jay Goodman, Steven, Goodman, David Grimes. Honorary Pallbearers: Jeffrey Grimes, Christopher Goodman, Jamie Piparo, Julie Grimes.

Marcella Milby Lange was born December 28, 1930 in Green County, KY. She was the daughter of the late William C. Milby & Lily Thompson Milby. She departed this life Saturday, November 18, 2017 at her home in Decherd, Franklin County, TN, having attained the age 86 years, 10 months and 20 days.

Marcella had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Hodges Chapel United Methodist Church in Green County. She was a retired school teacher. She taught in Green and Hardin County.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Ivan Milby.

She is survived by:
  • Two daughters and two sons: Mitzi Gray of Decherd, TN; Vicki Robey of Elizabethtown, KY; Donald D. Lange Jr. and his wife Elvira of San Diego, CA; and Michael Lange and his wife Casey of Elizabethtown, KY

  • Two brothers and two sisters: Garland Milby and his wife Marilois of Louisville, KY; Ronny Gene Milby and his wife Vanessa of Campbellsville, KY; Charlotte Stumph of Greensburg, KY; and Marie Perkins of Louisville, KY

  • Ten grandchildren: Jay and Chad Goodman, Donald D. Lange III, Edward A. Lange, Jamie Piparo, Julie, David and Jeffrey Grimes, Savannah and Isabella Lange


  • Sixteen great grandchildren

  • Plus a host of other relatives and friends
