Theresa Smith, 66, of the Cool Springs community, died November 7, 2017 at 8:18amCT, at her home.

Funeral service will be Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 2pmCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with burial to follow in Tarter's Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10amCT, Thursday.

She was born June 8, 1951, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY. She was the daughter of the late John & Frankie Nelson. She died November 7, 2017, in Adair County, KY, at the age of 66 years, four months,and 30 days. Theresa was secretary for J. Downey & Son for several years.

Survivors include:
  • Her long-time companion: Leon Burris of Cool Springs, KY

  • Two brothers: John Nelson, Jr. of LaGrange, KY; and Mike Nelson of California

  • One sister: Susan Guest of Louisville, KY

  • Several other relatives and friends
