Cecil Elmore Wilson, Metcalfe County, KY (1935-2017)

He was retired from Metcalfe County Farm Supply, in Edmonton, KY, and worked for many years at National Brush Lumber Company in Glasgow, KY. He was also a retired farmer.He was the patriarch of a very large, highly regarded family. He was the son of the late Lenus & Lorene Shirley Wilson, one of nine children of the late Lenus & Lorene Shirley Wilson to His wife of 62 years, Murriel Brown Wilson, survives. He leaves 34 direct living descendants and deep family ties in Metcalfe, Adair, and Barren Counties of South Central Kentucky and elsewhere.

Cecil Elmore Wilson age 82 of Edmonton, KY, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2017 at his home.

Funeral services will be held 2pmCT, Sunday, November 12, 2017, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Wilson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3pm until 8pmCT, Saturday and after 9amCT, Sunday at the funeral home.



Cecil Elmore Wilson, Metcalfe County, KY (1935-2017)


He was the son of the late Lenus & Lorene Shirley Wilson. He was born February 25, 2017. He died Thursday, November 9, 2017, in Edmonton, Metcalfe County, KY, at the age of 82 years, eight months, and 15 days.

He was retired from Metcalfe County Farm Supply, in Edmonton, KY, and worked for many years at National Brush Lumber Company in Glasgow, KY. He was also a retired farmer.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Murriel Brown Wilson, and the following:
  • Five children: Larry Wilson of Edmonton, KY; Sharon Kingrey and husband Jackie of Summer Shade, KY; Marty Wilson and companion, Becky of Edmonton, KY; Tony Wilson of Edmonton, KY; and and Graylin Wilson and wife, Mary Ann of Hiseville, KY

  • Eleven grandchildren: Christie (Sean) Anderson, Brandy Morgan, Chad (Sharon) Wilson, Amy (Danny) Neal, Emily (Jason) Manning, Anthony Wilson, Tonya (Joshua) French, Jonathan (Crystal) Kingrey, Jordan Kingrey, Lauren Bridgewater and Morgan Hurt

  • Eighteen great grandchildren: Adam, Elizabeth and William Decker, Konnor and Kelsea Anderson, Addison Morgan, Sophia and Lillian Wilson, Hannah, Jackson, Braxton Wilson. Carly Manning, Jacob Wilson, Benjamin, Beckham, Beatrice Kingrey, Enoch and Emery Bridgewater

  • Five brothers and sisters. Wayne (Janice) Wilson, Delsie Jessee, and, Elsie (Gearon) Norris, all of Edmonton, KY; Pat (Shelley) Wilson of Columbia, KY; and Patricia Gaskins of Edmonton, KY

  • Several other brother and sister in laws: Lois Wilson of Fairplay, KY Shirlie Wilson of Indiana; Edward and Margie Reed of Edmonton, KY; and Patsy Harper of Edmonton
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Curtis, Dave and Tommy Wilson. Send condolences to the family of Cecil Elmore Wilson
