Matrie Elaine Wade, Russell County, KY (1925-2017)

She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Eden Baptist Church. She was a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, and a resident of Russell Springs, KY,at the time of her death. Her final resting place will be in Mill Springs Cemetery. Her husband, Edward K. Wade, survives. She was a member of a large, widely respected family. She leaves 37 direct living descendants.

Matrie Elaine Wade, 92, Of Russell Springs, KY, died Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at the Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs, KY.

Funeral service for Matrie Elaine Wade will be 12pmCT, Friday, November 3, 2017 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Elder Larold Gosser and Elder Paul Roy officiating. Visitation will be after 6pmCT, Thursday, November 2, 2017. Interment in the Mill Springs National Cemetery, 9044 KY-80, Nancy, KY. Pallbearers: Cary Wade, Darren Wade, Casey Wade Jeremy Wade, Brandon Wade, Mark Wade, and Jeff Pettyjohn.



Matrie Elaine Wade, Russell County, KY (1925-2017)


She was born October 29, 1925, in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Beecher & Matrie Emerson Harris. She died Wednesday, November 1, 2017, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY at the age of 92 years, two days.

Elaine was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Eden Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Billy Don Wade; and two brothers, Joy Harris and Zen Harris.

Survivors include her husband: Edward K. Wade, Russell Springs, KY

and the following:
  • Three sons: Roger (Sue) Wade, Marysville, Ohio; Terry (Beckie) Wade, Jamestown, KY; and Teddy (Liz) Wade, Cynthiana, KY

  • Twelve grandchildren

  • Eighteen great grandchildren

  • Four great great grandchildren

  • One brother: Jerry Harris, Russell Springs, KY
