ACHS Air & Space Academy service learning project aids airport A WIN-WIN for students and the Columbia-Adair County Airport Click on headline for story with photo(s) By Keri Willis On Thursday, October 26, 2017, the Adair County High School Air & Space Academy students traveled to the Columbia-Adair Airport (I96) to participate in a service learning project. In the classroom, these students learn about flight and engineering, however this opportunity allowed them to learn about taking pride in their community and local airport, giving of themselves without receiving anything in return. While there, students worked hard washing windows, cleaning bathrooms, pulling weeds, replacing old window blinds with new ones, vacuuming around base boards, and making airplane tie downs. This event was a WIN-WIN for both parties; the students had a great time and the airport got a "face lift"! This story was posted on 2017-10-30 12:43:19
