FM2 open just two more Saturdays before season ends

By Linda Waggener

The Farmers Market on the Square (FM2), corner of Merchant and Campbellsville Streets in Columbia, is open just twice more before the season ends. They will open tomorrow morning, Saturday, October 21, 2017 and again on the last Saturday of the month, October 28, 2017.

Anyone with Senior or WIC vouchers is reminded to use them before the market closes on October 28. In its rich tradition, the market will have its biggest event on the last day of the season, October 28, with gift baskets to give away and free homemade foods.

Donatoins will be gratefully accepted on the 28th to help raise money to continue to provide a program called Kids Bucks for the youngest customers at the Market. They would like to provide it longer and to more children when the next season begins in April of 2018.

Registration can be done tomorrow and on October 28, for the prize baskets to be given away on the 28th. They may contain something like freshly baked, freshly picked, sewed, painted, perhaps a homemade jelly or homemade soap or candle, or other surprises. The winners will be drawn on the 28th.
