Garland Hayes, 86, Green County, KY (1931-2017) Mr. Hayes made a childhood profession of faith in Christ and attended the Light House Baptist Church. He a US Army Korean War veteran, and a lifelong farmer and was a care giver for his wife for many years. He was the son of the late Robert T. & Lena Wilkerson Hayes, and the widower of Allene Sharpe Hayes. He leaves two direct and two step living descendants. Funeral service will be Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 11amCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY with Bro. Jim Collison and Bro. Don Gowin the officiating clergy. Burial in the Griffin Cemetery on Hwy 565 with full military honors presented by Columbia VFW Post 6097. He died at his home on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at the age of 86 years, seven months He was preceded in death by one brother, Floyd Sherman Hayes; and by his wife Allene Sharpe Hayes on August 10, 2004.
