COLUMBIA, KY - For the second-straight week, the Lindsey Wilson football team received a No. 5 ranking according to the NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll, released by the national office on Monday.

The Blue Raiders collected 286 total voting points from the panel of national raters and have now been ranked in 58-consecutive polls dating back to the first week of the 2013 season.

Lindsey Wilson is coming off a 64-23 road victory over Kentucky Christian on Saturday, moving the Blue Raiders to 6-0 overall and 2-0 in Mid-South Conference Bluegrass Division play. LWC led the Knights just 13-9 after the first quarter, but a 28-0 scoring advantage in the second quarter helped the Blue Raiders pull away for the win. The Blue Raiders used a balanced attack in the win, compiling 376 yards through the air and 209 on the ground.

The top 14 teams in the poll all held the same rankings from the previous poll. Defending champion Saint Francis (IN) continues to hold the top spot with 340 voting points and all 15 first-place votes. Baker (KS) is second at 327 points, followed by Reinhardt (GA) with 312. Morningside (Iowa) is the final team ahead of LWC with 303 points at No. 4.

Nine teams reside within the poll with unbeaten records.

Joining the Blue Raiders from the Mid-South Conference Bluegrass Division in the poll is Georgetown (KY at No. 9, Cumberland (TN) at No. 22 and Campbellsville (KY) at No. 25.

Lindsey Wilson, Georgetown, Cumberland and Campbellsville own a combined record of 22-2 this season, with both losses attributed to Cumberland. LWC faces those squads in three of the final four weeks of the regular season. Charles Balcom is Assistant Sports Information Director at Lindsey Wilson College
