Warnell Wheat, 67, Columbia, KY (1949-2017)

She was a member of Second Christian Church and made numerous friends during her pre-retirement years at Fruit of the Loom and Walmart. She was a member of an outstanding South Central Kentucky family. She was the daughter of the late John Milton & Emma Jean Sebastian Bailey. Her husband of 49 years, Billy Wheat, survives. She leaves seven direct living descendants.

Warnell Wheat, 67, of Columbia, KY, died Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 7:10 P.M. at the Medical Center of Bowling Green, KY.

Funeral service, Friday, October 20, 2017 at 1pmCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Kenny Carter, Sr., delivering the eulogy. Burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 4125 Johnson School Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Thursday, October 19, 2017 at the funeral home.

She was born November 16, 1949, in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY. She was the daughter of the late John Milton & Emma Jean Sebastian Bailey. She died Saturday, October 14, 2017, in Bowling Green, Warren County, KY, at the age of 67 years, 10 months, and 28 days.

She was a member of Second Christian Church and made numerous friends during her pre-retirement years at Fruit of the Loom and Wal-Mart. Survivors include:
  • Her husband of 49 years: Billy Wheat of Columbia, KY

  • Two children: Audra Wheat of Louisville, KY, and Russ Wheat (Chelle) of Columbia, KY

  • One brother: George Ray Bailey of Campbellsville, KY

  • Four granddaughters: Hali Wheat, Kyra Robinson, Brittany Grant, and Ch'Dara Wheat

  • One great-granddaughter: Te'oynna Young

  • Three sisters-in-law

  • A special cousin: Pat Briggs of Louisville, KY

  • And a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
