David was an Auto Body Repair technician. He enjoyed car shows, country music, dancing and spending time with his family. He was a member of a large, respected family, a native of Liberty, KY and a resident of the city at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Herbert & Gertrude Buis Wheeler. He leaves 18 direct living descendants.

William "David" Wheeler, 73, of Liberty, KY, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at his home. He was 73.

The funeral service will be held at 12pmNoonCT/1pmET, on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Jim Luttrell officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Hill Cemetery, Casey County, KY.< The family will receive friends 10am-12pmNoonCT/11am-1pmET, on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.



William (David) Wheeler, Casey County, KY (1944-2017)


Born on May 11, 1944, in Liberty, Casey County, KY, he was a son of the late Herbert & Gertrude Buis Wheeler. He died Tuesday, October 10, 2017, in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at the age of 73 years, five months, and 29 days.

David was an Auto Body Repair technician. He enjoyed car shows, country music, dancing and spending time with his family.

Mr. Wheeler is survived by:
  • A daughter: Donna Copeland of Carmel, IN

  • Two sons: John David (and Brandie) Wheeler and William Thomas Wheeler, both of Indianapolis, IN

  • Two sisters: Mary Jo (and Tubby) Richardson of Yosemite, KY; and Vickie (and Jimmie) Lawhorn of Dunnville, KY

  • The mother of his children: Lela Mae Carpenter

  • Twelve grandchildren

  • And three great-grandchildren
In addition to his parents, Mr. Wheeler is predeceased by his wife, Linda Walls Wheeler; a daughter, Lisa Wheeler; three sisters, Ina Maupin, Joyce Carman and Brenda Sue Wheeler; two brothers, Buddy Wheeler and Thomas Merle Wheeler; and a grandchild, Ryan Thomas Wheeler.

In lieu of flowers, contributions of sympathy may be made to the funeral home to assist the family of Mr. Wheeler with funeral expenses.
