Mrs. Hilda Mae Gribbons Johnson Cleaver, Taylor County, KY (1932-2017)

Mrs. Hilda Mae (Gribbons) Johnson Cleaver of Campbellsville entered into rest on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at her home after an extended illness. Mrs. Cleaver graduated from Campbellsville College and was a retired LPN with over 17 years of service at Medco and over 5 years at Jane Todd Crawford Hospital. She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Lowell Avenue Baptist Church.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Cleaver on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at 1pmCT/1pmCT in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Road, Campbellsville, KY. Rev. Kathy Danaham will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Washington Cemetery, Saloma Road, Campbellsville, KY. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Saturday, October 7, 2017.

Mrs. Hilda Mae Gribbons Johnson Cleaver, Taylor County, KY (1932-2017)

She was born on May 5, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Roy & Leena (Childers) Gribbons. She died Wednesday, October 4, 2017, in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 85 years, 4 months, and 30 days of age.

She leaves to cherish her memory:
  • Her husband of nearly 26 years: Larry Cleaver, Sr. of Campbellsville, KY

  • Five children: Beverly Johnson Cox and Timothy Johnson of Campbellsville, KY; Charlie Wayne Cleave and wife Beverly of Indiana; Larry Wayne Cleaver, Jr. of Indiana, and Kathy Danaham and husband Tom of Illinois

  • Six grandchildren

  • A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren,

  • And several other family and close friends
Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by four sisters, Pearl Garrett, Lula Bright, Jean Hughes, and Mildred Payne; and two grandchildren, Michael Johnson and Joseph Johnson; a great-grandchild, Kasey Michelle Upchurch; and a daughter-in-law, Nadine Johnson.
