LWC Football holds at No. 6 in NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll By Chris Wells, Sports Information Director, LWC COLUMBIA, KY - For the fourth week in a row, the Lindsey Wilson football team received a No. 6 ranking in the NAIA Football Coaches' Top 25 Poll, officials from the national office announced on Monday. The Blue Raiders collected a total of 274 voting points from the panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences. Monday's ranking marks the 56th-consecutive poll the Blue Raiders have been ranked dating back to the first week of the 2013 season. Lindsey Wilson is coming off a 56-7 victory over Cincinnati Christian (Ohio) in the Mid-South Conference Bluegrass Division opener for both sides. The Blue Raiders scored on offense, defense and special teams in the victory, with Payton Veraldi accounting for four touchdown passes in his first career start. The top five teams ahead of the Blue Raiders went unchanged for the fourth-straight week. Defending national champion St. Francis (IN) garnered 340 points and all 15 first-place votes. Baker (KS) stayed at No. 2 with 327 points, while Reinhardt (GA) held at No. 3 with 311 points. Morningside (Iowa) (No. 4 with 302 points) and Montana Tech (No. 5 with 289 points) complete the top five. Lindsey Wilson is one of 10 teams with unbeaten records to be featured in the top 25. Joining the Blue Raiders from the Bluegrass Division in the poll is Georgetown (KY) at No. 10. Just outside of the poll, both Cumberland (TN) and Campbellsville (KY) received votes.
