Reception held in Columbia for Doris Jean Browning Depp

By Linda Waggener

Former ACHS teacher and long time Beta Club sponsor, Doris Jean Browning Depp, was in Columbia Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, for a reception with friends and former students. Visitors came in and out during the afternoon to share tea and cookies and good memories in the lovely new home of Marsha and Richard Lee Walker.

Marsha said, "Mrs. Depp is remembered as the type of teacher who went over and beyond her teaching duties to provide her students with educational activities outside the classroom."

She has two sons, Philip and Robert, and a daughter Dona. There are six grandchildren: Joshua, Madison, Easton, Sawyer, and Sidney Depp, and Davis Smith.

Since the loss of her husband Phil, Mrs. Depp has lived in Louisville for several years.

Her son Robert Depp brought her to Adair County for the reception.
