Elizabeth Louise (Betty Lou) Marple, age 87, of Liberty, KY passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville, KY.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30amCT/11:30amET, Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel, 142 KY Hwy 149, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Steve Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Gum Lick Cemetery. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT/6pm-9pmET, Friday, September 8, 2017 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel and after 7amCT/8amET, on Saturday September 9, 2017 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel.



Elizabeth Louise (Betty Lou) Marple, Casey County, KY (1930-2017)

She was born in Atterson, Casey County, KY on August 31, 1930. She was a daughter of the late Van Roy Marple & Mary M. Goode Marple. She died Tuesday, September 5, 2017, in Danville, Boyle County, KY, at the age of 87 years, five days.

Betty Lou was the widow of Aaron Kenneth Marple.

She was a former employee of Kings Department Store and a Member of Gum Lick Christian Church.

Survivors include:
  • Two sons: Phillip and Mike and (Elaine) Marple both of Liberty, KY

  • Two daughters: Phyllis Miller of Liberty, KY; and Mary Jo Thomas of Dunnville, KY

  • Six grandchildren: Timothy Marple, Sharon Richardson, Ronda Wilson, Melanie King, Jessica Thomas and Chad Marple

  • Ten great grandchildren

  • One brother: Rodney Lee Marple of Springville, IN

  • Three sisters: Billye Meadows, Nancy Parsons and Jo Ann Millikan, all of Noblesville, IN
Besides her parents and spouse Betty Lou was preceded in death by one grandson, Anthony Miller; one great grandchild, Grayson Kenneth Marple; one brother, James H. Marple; and four sisters, Flora Jane Lancaster, Mary Frances Marple, Carlyn Sue Marple and Joyce Marie Marple.
