William (Bill) Reynolds, 89, Adair County, KY (1928-2017)

He was a member of Beulah Chapel Brethren in Christ Church, and had retired from Kentucky Department of Transportation after 22 years of service. He was a highly respected citizen is remembered as one of the great farm equipment mechanic. He was married first to Lola Mae Corbin Reynolds, who died in 1982; his wife, Frances Giles Reynolds, survives. He leaves 27 direct and four step- living descendants.

William "Bill" Reynolds age 89 years of Columbia, KY passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 10:07amCT, at his home.

Funeral service Friday, Aug 11, 2017 at 11amCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, Bro. Clifton Bennett and Bro. Ralph Foster the officiating clergy. Interment in Reynolds Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4pmCT, Thursday, August 10, 2017.

William "Bill" Reynolds, 89, Adair County, KY (1928-2017)


He was born on February 10, 1928 in Adair County, KY. He was the son of the late William Gobel & Velma Lilian Riddle Reynolds. He died Tuesday, August 8, 2017, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 89 years, five months, and 29 days. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lola Mae Corbin Reynolds, on July 2, 1982, & later married Frances Giles Reynolds, who survives. He was also preceded, in death by one son, William Wayne Reynolds; and one brother, James Mark Reynolds.

He is survived by:
  • His wife: Frances Giles Reynolds of Columbia, KY

  • Two sons: James Paul (Connie) Reynolds of Columbia, KYl and Michael Lee (Peggy) Reynolds of Columbia, KY

  • One brother: Gerald (Judy) Reynolds of Greensburg, KY

  • Two sisters; Ruth (j. w.) Noe of Louisville, KY; and Evelyn Marie Reynolds of Louisville, KY
  • Two brothers-in-law: Charles Giles of Columbia, KY; and Franklin D. Giles of Florida

  • Six grandchildren: Rodney Reynolds, Jonathan Reynolds, Sonja Reynolds, Shannon Matthews, Kevin Reynolds and Keith Reynolds

  • Four step-grandchildren
  • Nineteen great grandchildren

  • Two nieces and one nephew: Cindy Reynolds, Rebecca Noe and Jimmy Reynolds

  • And host of other relatives and friends
