Ransom E. Guffey 89, of Jamestown, KY passed away on Monday August 7, 2017, at the Carmel Health and Rehab Center in Carmel, IN.

Funeral Services for Ransom E. Guffey will be at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, 202 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY on Friday August 11, 2017, 10amCT, with Bro. Elwood Mann officiating. Friends may visit 5pm-8pmCT, Thursday August 10, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial in the Mann Cemetery.



Ransom Earl Guffey, 89, Russell County, KY (1927-2017)


He was born in Jamestown, Russell County, KY on August 12, 1927 a son of the late Nina (Collins) & William S. Guffey. He died Monday, August 7, 2017, in Carmel, Hamilton County, IN, at the age of 89 years, 11 months, and 26 days.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by:
  • Four sons: Donnie Guffey (Trish Fellows), of Fisher, IN; Phillip (Wanda) Guffey, of Indianapolis, IN; Jerry (Emily) Guffey, of Glasgow, KY; and David (Kelly) Guffey, of Indianapolis, IN

  • Five brothers: Bennie Joe Guffey, of AL; Daryl Guffey, of TN; Jimmy Guffey,of Russell Springs, KY; Billy Bob Guffey, of Louisville, KY; and Ricky Guffey, of Simpsonville, KY

  • Three sisters: Emily Guffey, of Russell Springs, KY; Virginia Mena, of TN; and Doris Hilbert, of CA<

  • Six grandchildren

  • Three great grandchildren
Ransom was preceded in death by his parents, wife Flossie (Moore) Guffey, a sister Hadus Geraldine Guffey, and a brother Arlis MacArthur Guffey,
