She was the daughter of the late Virgle Whie & Mary Garrett White. Her husband, 55 direct descendants and many step- descendants are among those left to carry on her legacy.

Anna Carol Shirley, age 74, of Glasgow passed away on Sunday, August 6 at T.J. Sampson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY.

Funeral services will be held at 2pmCT, on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Metcalfe County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on 3pm-8pmCT, Tuesday, August 9, 2017, and on Wednesday from 9amCT until the service.



Anna Carol Shirley, 74, Glasgow, KY (1942-2017)

She was the daughter of Virgle White and Mary Garrett White. She was born December 24, 1942. She died Sunday, August 6, 2017, in Glasgow, KY, at the age of 74 years, seven months, and 13 days. She is survived by:
  • Her husband: Bill Shirley of Glasgow, KY

  • Six Children: Phyllis Wheeler of Edmonton, KY; Rondal (Anna) Huff of Summer Shade, KY; Teresa (Joey) Brown, Lisa (Jimmie) Wilson both of Edmonton, KY; Greg (Ashley) Huff of Glasgow, KY; and Diana (Philip) Leszczewicz of Bowling Green, KY

  • Six step-children: Joyce (Verlon) Grissom of Knob Lick, KY; Dwayne Shirley, and Sandy (Kenneth) Froedge both of Edmonton, KY; Lisa (James) Bragg, and Mark (Cynthia) Shirley both of Glasgow, KY

  • Twenty-two grandchildren

  • Several step-grandchildren

  • Twenty-seven great-grandchildren

  • Three brothers: Pate white of Edmonton, KY; Owen (Sue) White of Edmonton, KY; and Van White of Glasgow, KY
Anna was preceded in death by one son, Donald Huff; two great-grandchildren Grayson Wayne Hurt and Tanner Lee Huff; and three sisters, Dixie Boston, Mildred Boston, and Winnie Wallace.
