Vernelle "Dinah" Popplewell Thomas, 80, of Georgetown, Ky, formerly of Russell Springs, KY, died Sunday, July 30, 2017, at the North Healthcare Pavillion Hospice Unit in Louisville, KY.

Visitation will be 12pmNoon-4pmCT, Saturday, August 5, 2015, at Bernard Funeral Home, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY. with a private family service following.

Vernelle (Dinah) Popplewell Thomas, 80, Russell Co., KY (1937-2017)

She was born April 13, 1937 in Russell County, KY, to the late Otha Lee & Belva (Dunbar) Popplewell. She died Sunday, July 30, 2017, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 80 years, two months, and 17 days.

She was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands Adrie Thomas and Carl Hurt; three sisters, Gertie Johnson, Evelyn Lee, and Nina Dunbar; and five brothers, Mose Popplewell, Otto Vernon Popplewell, Jack Popplewell, Phillip Popplewell, and Roger Popplewell.

Survivors are:
  • Two daughters: Judy Potts, Canada; and Jenny Walker, Georgetown, KY

  • Three step-children: Kay Phelps, and Utah Jill Hamilton, Louisville, KY; and Jina Moore, Colorado

  • Four grandchildren and four step-grandchildren
