He was a native of Jefferson County, KY, and a resident of Columbia, KY at the time of his death in Russell County, KY. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Melson Ridge Community Baptist Church. He was also a iron worker/welder for Branscum Precision Construction. His wife, Gina Carrie Grant McAfee, survives. He leaves four direct living descendants, daughters, two of whom live in Columbia, KY and one in Franklin, KY, and a grandson of Mississippi.

Mr. Douglas Dewayne "Bubba" McAfee, Jr., 48, of Columbia, KY, departed this life on Thursday, July 27, 2017 in Russell County, KY.

The funeral services for Douglas Dewayne "Bubba" McAfee, Jr. will be conducted at 1pmCT, Monday, July 31, 2017 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Bennett Cemetery. Bro. Mike Helm and Bro. Greg Whitlow will officiate. Visitation is requested from 5pm-8pmCT, Sunday, July 30, 2017, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Monday until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers: Grayson Bills, Jonathan Robertson, Grant Curry, Eric Johnson, Zack Crawford, and Kevin Sneed.

Mr. Douglas Dewayne (Bubba) McAfee, Jr. was the son of Douglas Dewayne McAfee, Sr. of Campbellsville, KY, and Barbara Dell Whitlow Bills McAfee of Greensburg, KY. He was born on November 3, 1968 in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY and departed this life on Thursday, July 27, 2017 in Russell County, KY. He was 48 years, eight months, and 24 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Melson Ridge Community Baptist Church. He was also a iron worker/welder for Branscum Precision Construction.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, Gina Carrie Grant McAfee, of Columbia, KY, having united in marriage on May 24, 2008.

Other survivors include:
  • Three daughters: Bethany McAfee, and Hannah McAfee both of Columbia, KY; and Sarah Grant of Franklin, KY

  • Step-mother: Kim McAfee of Campbellsville, KY

  • Three brothers and sisters-in-law: Danny and Pam Bills, and Mike and Tracy Bills all of Greensburg, KY; and Tony and Mandy Bills of Franklin, KY

  • A sister: Simione Walker of Mississippi

  • One grandson: Helix Cayde Owens

  • And a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.

The Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY is in charge of arrangements.
