She was a native of Metcalfe County, KY, and a resident of Green County, KY, atthe time of her death in Barren County, KY. he was the daughter of the late Ellis Young & Opal L. Fancher Young, and the widow of Boyce Wayne Jones, her husband of over 60 years. She leaves seven direct living descendants. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a homemaker.

Mrs. Ruth D. Jones of Green County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Ellis Young and Opal L. Fancher Young, died Monday, July 3, at Signature Healthcare Facility of Glasgow, KY.

The funeral services for Ruth D. Jones will be conducted at 1pmCT, Friday, July 7, 2017 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Pierce Community Cemetery. Visitation is requested 4pm-8pmCT, Thursday, July 6, 2017, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Friday until time of the funeral service.

Mrs. Ruth D. Jones, Green Co., KY/Metcalfe Co., KY native (1927-2017)

She was born on Sunday, March 20, 1927 in Metcalfe County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Ellis Young & Opal L. Fancher Young, was born on Sunday, March 20, 1927 in Metcalfe County and departed this life on Monday, July 3, 2017 and departed this life on Monday, July 3, 2017 in Glasgow, Barren County, KY. She was 90 years, three months, and 13 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a homemaker.

She united in marriage to Boyce Wayne Jones on December 24, 1945 who preceded her in death on January 26, 2006.

Survivors include:
  • A son and daughter-in-law: Timothy Wayne & Susan Jones of Texas

  • Three grandchildren: Daniel Jason Jones of Glasgow, KY; Jonathan Wayne Jones of Greensburg, KY; and William Clay Jones, II of Columbia, KY

  • Three great-grandchildren: Natalie Jones of Shepherdsville, KY; and William Jones and Jackson Jones both of Greensburg, KY

  • A sister: Dovie Strode of Edmonton, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
Mrs. Jones was also preceded in death by a son: William C. "Bill" Jones, Sr.; and a brother: Ellis Wayne Young.
