She was member of a distinguished, highly regarded family. She was the daughter of the late James S. & Malcus Johnson Breeding, and the widow of Rudy Campbell. She leaves 10 direct living descendants. Mrs. Campbell was a member of the Antioch United Methodist Church, a retired teacher from the Adair County School System where she taught for 35 years, and a homemaker

Mary E. Campbell, age 81, years of the Sparksville Community in Adair County, KY passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 7:27amET, at the home of her daughter in Lawrenceburg, KY. after a short illness.

Funeral service: Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 11amCT, at the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Troy Elmore the officiating clergy. Interment will be in the Antioch Cemetery, 3422 Wheeler Hill Road, Columbia, KY. The family requests visiting after 3:30pmCT, on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

She was born April 12, 1936, in Breeding, Adair County, KY. She was the the daughter of the late James S. & Malcus Johnson Breeding. She died Saturday, June 10, 2017, in Lawrenceburg, Anderson County, KY, at the age of 81 years, one month, and 28 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Randall Rudolph (Rudy) Campbell on July 16, 2013

Mrs. Campbell is survived by:
  • One daughter: Leslie (Bill) Smith of Lawrenceburg, KY

  • One son: John (Shirley) Campbell of Columbia, KY

  • Three brothers: Jim (Norene) Breeding of Bowling Green, KY; John Carlisle (Rita) Breeding of Danville, KY; and Ben (Susan) Breeding of Springfield, KY

  • One sister: Portia (Allen) Winchester of Lexington, KY

  • Sister-in-law Audra Campbell of Columbia, KY

  • Three grandsons: Chris Campbell, Brian Campbell, Cameron Campbell

  • Five great grandchildren

  • And several nieces and nephews
