Mr. Casbel Grant Asbury, Green County, KY (1928-2017)

He was a retired assembly line worker from General Electric. He was also retired from the United States Marines as a Gunnery Sergeant. He was a Veteran of the Korean War and the Vietnam War and was a member of the James L. Pruitt V.F.W. Post #5813 and will be accorded full military honors at committal rites. He was the son of the late Burt Asbury and Velma Holly Asbury.

Mr. Casbel Grant Asbury, 88, of Green County, KY, departed this life on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at his home.

There will be graveside services with full Military Honors for Mr. Casbel Grant Asbury held at 10amCT, Saturday, June 3, 2017 at the Hedgespeth Cemetery in Greensburg, KY. Bro. Inus Pickett will be officiating.

Mr. Casbel Grant Asbury of Green County, KY, son of the late Burt Asbury and Velma Holly Asbury, was born on July 30, 1928 in Green County, KY and departed this life on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at his home. He was 88 years, 10 months, and one day of age.

He was a retired assembly line worker from General Electric. He was also retired from the United States Marines as a Gunnery Sergeant. He was a Veteran of the Korean War and the Vietnam War and was a member of the James L. Pruitt V.F.W. Post #5813.

He is survived by:
  • A sister: America Pace of Caverna, KY

  • A brother: Kenny Asbury of Hardyville, KY

  • A nephew: Lenny Asbury of Hardyville, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and many friends
Mr. Asbury was also preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers, Beulah "Judy" Stevens, Jeanie Russell, Joyce Jolly, Naomi Butler, Rural Asbury, Joe Asbury and Lendon Asbury.
