Columbia Rotary Food Drive is Fri 2 Jun 2017

By George Kolbenschlag

The Columbia Rotary Club will be conducting its quarterly food collection for the Adair County Food Pantry, Friday, June 2, 2017, at Columbia IGA. Rotary members will be at IGA, 900 Jamestown Street, Columbia, KY, beginning at 4:30pmCT and will continue to collect items donated by shoppers until 6:30pmCT.

] The Rotary Club began its support of the Food Pantry five years ago and has made regular quarterly collections of canned and other not-Perishable items at IGA quarterly since as one of its community service projects. The Rotary motto is "Service Above Self" and the Rotary club has tried to live up to that motto since its beginning in Columbia in 1935.

The club meets at the Lindsey Wilson College cafeteria, Roberta C. Cranmer Dining Center, 430 Helen Flatt Drive, Columbia, KY, at 5:30pmCT, for dinner the second and fourth Mondays each month. That schedule may vary during the summer from time to time because of other events or if the cafeteria is not open.

Guests are welcome at the meetings. If you are intested in joining Rotary, Check the ColumbiaMagazine.com calendar or call Hunter Durham or J. D. Zornes at 270-384-4411 or George Kolbenschlag at 270-384-6777 for current information. - George Kolbenschlag
