Deanna Davis Loy, 67, Russell Co., KY (1950-2017)

She was a retired registered nurse. She was the matriarch of a highly distinguished family centered around Adair & Russell Counties of South Central Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Earl & Kathryn Hutchison Davis, and the widow of Kenneth Loy.

Deanna Davis Loy, 67, of Jamestown, KY, died Sunday, May 7, 2017 at the Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center, Somerset. KY.

Funeral service for Deanna Loy will be 10amCT, Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Rev. Tony Stephens officiating. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT, Monday, May 8, 2017, and after 8amCT, on Tuesday, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Loy Family Cemetery.


Honorary Pallbearer: Griffin Loy. Active pallbearers: David Hutchison, Lonnie White, Jim Flowers, Dale Barlow, Terry Grider, Jerry Holt, Caleb Flanagan, and Kevin Davis.

She was born May 3, 1950 in Parkersburg, Wood County, WV. She was the daughter of the late Earl & Mary Kathryn Hutchison Davis. She died Sunday, May 7, 2017, in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY, at the age of 67 years, four days.

She was a retired Registered Nurse.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Loy, on January 18, 2015.

Survivors are:
  • Three children: Dr. Melanie Loy Flanagan, Russell Springs, KY; John Kenneth (Stacy) Loy, Jamestown, KY; and Dr. Eric (Ginger) Loy, Jamestown, KY

  • Eight grandchildren: Caleb Flanagan, Maggie Flanagan, Lizzie Loy, Sarah Loy, Isabelle Loy, Abigail Loy, Molly Caroline Loy, and Eric Griffin Loy

  • One brother: Kenneth Davis, Slidell, LA
